One purpose of CBRPA obtaining membership in the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA) is to join with other medical imaging certification agencies, such as ARRT, ARDMS, and NMTCB, in the support of quality standards of practice. A second reason is that the NOCA organization assists in the understanding of the importance of credentialing, competency assessment and use of proper terminology with legislators, federal and state agencies, educators, employers, professionals and the public. Other reasons for seeking membership are the expertise and guidance in development of the testing process, the networking resources provided, educational seminars focused on accreditation of the testing process, and utilization of the agency as an advocate on certification issues. The CBRPA will become strengthened through the association with NOCA.
